Prices and Procedures

Jerry Schuster will paint portraits from any photo or image submitted by clients.  In addition, he will travel to meet portrait clients and subjects as required.

Medium-Sized Portraits with One Subject - Unframed - $1500
Any size up to 24" X 30"
Add $500 for each additional subject
Add $750 for highly detailed backgrounds
Add $250 for suitable framing

Large-Sized Portraits with One Subject - Unframed - $2500
Any size from 25" X 31" up to 40" X 60"
Add $800 for each additional subject
Add $1250 for highly detailed backgrounds
Add $400 for suitable framing

The only other charges are for shipping and handling.  This is a flat $15 for unframed portraits.  The canvas will be sent rolled up in a tube and ready for stretching and framing, locally.  Framed portraits will have the standard $15 fee charged, plus the actual cost of shipping, handling, and insurance.  North Carolina residents will also be responsible for sales tax.

A $100 initial deposit is required to initiate the commission. Terms beyond initial deposit are negotiable.  However in  most instances, payment is paid at approval of the finished portrait, but prior to shipping.

You will receive images via email or the Internet throughout the painting process - including close-ups at the appropriate time.  Your input and suggestions will be sought at every step to ensure that your needs are met, perfectly.  This process is not at all detached.  You and I will have much ongoing communication before and during the development of the portrait. My goal is to make this a very satisfying and enjoyable process.

Every effort will be made to not only ensure client satisfaction with the image, but also to allow for the highest degree of permanence of the painting itself. Only the best, most archival materials will be used, regardless of cost, in the interest of longevity.
